Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the RVP East for one of the world’s most well-respected International logistics organizations providing global air & ocean freight forwarding, contract logistics, express services, customs brokerage and supply chain solutions, worldwide. The Station Manager will be responsible for all aspects of our client’s logistics operation including sales, freight forwarding operations, terminal handling & warehousing operations, customer service, customs clearance, and billing. This position will support and develop a strong team of freight forwarding professionals and will assign & review work, set completion dates and manages performance in accordance with organizational policies, procedures and processes. Will direct annual budget preparation for branch / district location by setting, evaluating, and meeting or exceeding performance targets. Additionally, will manage service quality and satisfaction levels for key customers and will support commercial team in client visits.

Background Required:
  • International freight forwarding experience (8 years)
  • Team leadership - hiring, coaching, training & development (3 years)
  • Strong airfreight experience
  • P&L including budgeting, forecasting & reporting
  • Knowledge of greater DC markets (military/gov, pharma, aerospace, etc.)
  • Multimodal freight (air, ocean, import, export & domestic transportation)
  • Established standard operating procedures & metrics
  • Business plan preparation and implementation
  • Negotiation and problem solving
  • Proficient computer skills: (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook)
  • Residence: Greater Sterling, VA area
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience with CargoWise
  • Experience with ocean freight
