Staff Accountant

A specialized advertising agency focused on personal injury and legal marketing is looking for a Staff Accountant/Bookkeeper in Denver. The firm partners with law practices nationwide to develop and execute strategic media campaigns across television, radio, digital, and outdoor channels, with an emphasis on long-term relationships and measurable results.


GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Staff Accountant / Bookkeeper will play a key role in maintaining the day-to-day financial operations of the company. This position works closely with leadership and cross-functional teams, including media and client services, to ensure accurate billing, timely payments, and clean month-end reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working in a deadline-driven agency environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage full-cycle Accounts Payable, including vendor onboarding, invoice processing, ACH payments, check runs, and credit card reconciliations
• Support Accounts Receivable processes, including client billing, cash applications, and collections follow-up
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
• Perform monthly bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Collaborate with the media team to ensure accurate client billing and proper allocation of advertising spend
• Assist with monthly financial reporting and support month-end close activities
• File and remit monthly and quarterly sales and use tax
• Maintain organized financial records and documentation
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiency
• Assist with special projects and ad hoc reporting as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5+ years of progressive bookkeeping or accounting experience
• Experience with ERP systems
• Hands-on A/P experience, including vendor payments and credit card processing
• Skilled in account reconciliations and cash management
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Team-oriented mindset with a collaborative approach

BENEFITS:

• Pay: $70,000-80,000
• Schedule: 40 hours per week
