STAFF ACCOUNTANT

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for performing a variety of financial and accounting tasks, ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions, and assisting in the preparation of financial reports. Responsibilities:
- General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger accounts by posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and reviewing transactions for accuracy and completeness.
- Financial Transaction Processing: Process accounts payable and receivable transactions, including verifying invoices, preparing payments, and reconciling statements.
- Month-end Close: Assist in the month-end closing process by preparing and posting adjusting journal entries, reviewing expense allocations, and ensuring all financial records are properly recorded and reconciled.
- Financial Reporting: Support the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Prepare supporting schedules and analysis as required.
- Account Reconciliation: Perform regular account reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting and resolve any discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Help assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing accurate financial data and analysis.
- Compliance and Audit: Assist in ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations, policies, and procedures. Assist in external audit processes by providing necessary documentation and information.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support decision-making processes, including variance analysis, cost analysis, and profitability analysis.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven work experience as a Staff Accountant or similar role.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Yardi).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
