Focus:
- Manage general ledger accounting for restricted and unrestricted fund categories.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements in compliance with organizational policies and GAAP.
- Ensure accuracy in financial transactions including cash receipts, journal entries, and intercompany reconciliations.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing procedures, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Coordinate fund transfers, revenue postings, and reconciliations related to donor-restricted contributions.
- Maintain detailed audit trails and assist in audit preparation and external reviews.
- Serve as a finance liaison for cross-departmental teams and external partners.
- Identify process improvement opportunities, contributing to system enhancements and workflow optimization.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes
Skill Set:
- Demonstrated foundation in financial reporting and accounting practices through formal training or professional experience.
- At least two years of professional experience supporting core accounting functions, including transaction processing and financial recordkeeping.
- Proficiency in using ERP systems (e.g., Banner, Blackbaud, or similar platforms).
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in nonprofit, education, or fund-based accounting environments.
- Exposure to donor fund tracking, scholarship fund accounting, or grant reporting.
- CPA eligibility or ongoing pursuit of CPA designation a plus.
