Our client is currently hiring for a Staff Accountant (50% Fund Accounting/50% Corporate Accounting) to join their Accounting team who will report to the Director of Accounting. This individual will be responsible for handling the following tasks for a designated set of private and/or hedge funds and related entities.

- Responsible for the regular monitoring of cash reconciliations/breaks prepared by third party middle office function, reviewing portfolio activity and resolving breaks with fund expenses and capital activity for designated funds.
- Monitoring, analyzing, and reconciling accounting data produced by third party administrator (i.e. monthly/quarterly/yearly/ad-hoc deliverables such as NAV packs, investor allocation, investor statements, financial statements, risk reporting, notices of capital activities, budgeting etc.).
- Responsible for initial review of monthly/quarterly NAV packages (including management and incentive fees) which are finally approved by Director of Accounting and CFO.
- Responsible for gathering and reconciling accounting data for regulatory compliance filings to fund reporting records for designated funds (for example, Form PF, Form PQR, AIFMD – Annex 4, etc.).
- Support Director of Accounting and Investor Relations team in preparing regular performance reporting as well as ad-hoc investor requests including but not limited to investor performance summaries, capital activity summaries, etc.
- Support audit and tax reporting process for designated funds.
- Responsible for frequent communication with various internal departments as well as third party middle office and administrator. Including but not limited to various Firm-wide reporting such as AUM aggregation, management fee collections, etc.
- Responsible for our Accounts Payable function. Includes processing invoices for payment, setting up payments and maintaining the Accounts Payable email inbox.
- Potential to get involved in Management Company Accounting down the road
- Must have high attention to detail and accuracy, with ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Must be self-motivated and able to maintain an organized and appropriately prioritized workload; must be able to manage towards both recurring and ad hoc deadlines
- Should have superior analytical skills and have an ability to engage in critical thought with a mindset of continuous process improvement and enhancement
- Outstanding communication skills – written and verbal
- Advanced computer skills on MS Office (in particular Excel)
- Industry experience - private equity funds, hedge funds, and familiarity with financial instruments preferred
- BS degree in Finance or Accounting is required; CPA is a plus
- 1-2 years of relevant accounting experience
