The Staff Accountant’s primary responsibility will be to manage and maintain the financial records and transactions of the company. They will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting principles and regulations, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization. The position will involve various accounting tasks, from daily bookkeeping to month-end closing activities.

Responsibilities:

  • General Ledger Maintenance and Month-End Close: Record day-to-day financial transactions, including expenses, cash applications, and assist A/P with coding of supplier invoices into the company's accounting system.
  • Track bank account activity and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
  • Deposit checks into the bank account.
  • Participate in month-end closing processes, including adjusting journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Process commissions and rebates.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and proper classification.
  • Assist in year-end closing activities and facilitate the preparation of financial reports for audits.
  • File sales tax reports • Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and information.
  • Financial Systems and Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, enhance system efficiencies, and streamline financial operations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Proven work experience as an Accountant or in a similar role.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, regulations, and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Excel for data analysis.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
