Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Operations for a growing full-service 3rd party logistics provider. The organization is a growing asset based 3PL organization with a client base in warehousing services, transportation management, supply chain management, order fulfillment and labor needs.
The Senior Transportation Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the transportation and logistics operations within their Canada operation. The Sr. Transportation Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient movement of goods, fleet and driver management, and implementing strategies to optimize logistics processes. The challenge is to be an excellent leader and communicator over the organization’s transportation operations in a changing and fast paced work environment. The goal is to run a continually improving and efficient operation.

Background Required:
- Inbound/outbound transportation or Trucking Management (+5 years)
- Excellence in safety measures, training, team building, mentoring, recruiting, retention, and performance feedback
- Responsible for budgeting & P&L
- Responsible for driver and fleet compliance
- Responsible for fleet maintenance and fleet procurement
- Excellence in team leadership: Including driver policies, accountability, culture, etc.
- Transportation forecasting
- Project and client management
- Standard Operating Procedures - development and implementation
- Experienced in Province, Canada and Insurance regulations governing transportation and logistics operations.
- Continuous improvement planning and execution of performance metrics: Routing, vehicles and personnel
- Operations/processes expertise: state-of-the art knowledge - transportation and material handling software
- Computer literate: Microsoft suite
- Travel: 25%
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Location: Edmonton, Alberta
- Excellent facilitator with conflict resolution
- Excellent communicator (written and verbal)
- Leadership & team player
