Job Description

BCTG’s direct client is seeking a Senior SAP FICO Analyst with a strong focus on Controlling (CO). In this role, you will serve as a subject matter expert in SAP Controlling, leading the design, configuration, and optimization of product costing, margin analysis, and universal allocation within SAP S/4HANA. You will drive financial transparency, support strategic decision-making, and enable scalable, standardized controlling processes as part of ongoing SAP transformation initiatives.

This role requires deep expertise in SAP CO, including Product Costing, Margin Analysis, and Universal Allocations.

Controlling Solution Design & Implementation (Primary Focus)

  • Lead end-to-end design, configuration, and implementation of SAP Controlling processes, with emphasis on:

    • Product Costing (Make-to-Stock and Make-to-Order)

    • Margin Analysis (S/4HANA Margin Analysis / Account-Based COPA)

    • Universal Allocations (assessment, distribution, overhead allocations, and cycle design)

  • Configure and support core CO components including Cost Center Accounting, Internal Orders, Profit Center Accounting, and Profitability Analysis.

  • Ensure accurate cost flow from manufacturing through financial reporting and profitability analysis.

Financial Integration & Process Optimization

  • Ensure seamless integration between CO and other SAP modules including FI, MM, PP, and SD.

  • Support period-end close activities including allocations, settlement, and cost rollups.

  • Improve cost transparency, profitability reporting, and financial performance tracking across the organization.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Business Partnership

  • Partner with Finance, Operations, and Manufacturing teams to gather requirements and translate business needs into SAP solutions.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders on costing strategies, profitability reporting, and allocation methodologies.

System Enhancements, Support & Transformation

  • Lead and support SAP S/4HANA implementations, upgrades, and enhancements related to Controlling.

  • Provide Level 3 production support for SAP CO processes.

  • Lead testing cycles including unit testing, integration testing, and UAT.

  • Drive continuous improvement and standardization of controlling processes leveraging S/4HANA capabilities.

Documentation, Training & Governance

  • Prepare functional specifications, configuration documentation, and test scripts.

  • Conduct training sessions and workshops for business users.

  • Stay current on SAP S/4HANA Controlling innovations and recommend adoption where appropriate.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or related field

  • 7+ years of hands-on SAP FICO experience with strong emphasis on Controlling (CO)

  • REQUIRED: Deep expertise in:

    • Product Costing

    • Margin Analysis (S/4HANA)

    • Universal Allocations

  • Strong experience with:

    • Cost Center Accounting

    • Profit Center Accounting

    • Internal Orders

    • Period-end close and allocations

  • Experience supporting manufacturing finance and costing processes

  • Strong knowledge of SAP S/4HANA Finance and Controlling

Preferred:

  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA implementations or transformations

  • Experience integrating CO with MM, PP, SD, and FI

  • SAP S/4HANA Finance or Controlling certification
