Sr. Quality EHS Manager


Salary Range:$110,000.00 - $155,000.00

Position Responsibilities:
Reports to the Site Director for a world class food and beverage manufacturer at a state-of-the-art food manufacturing facility. The Sr. Quality EHS Manager will be responsible for fostering a world class culture of quality and EHS. Develops and implements strategies, systems and programs for zero health and safety incidents and safe food products as defined by FSMA, six sigma Quality performance and FDA, EPA and OSHA regulations and GFSI requirements. Leads development, execution and improvement of all Quality Assurance, Food Safety and EHS Systems, Programs, Policies and Procedures delivering QEHS Excellence and prepares, reviews and leads audits. Leads CAPA (Corrective Action / Preventative Action) program for site improvement in Quality, Regulatory Compliance, Environmental Health and Safety. Develops training to ensure employees understand and can execute established procedures while meeting all FDA, EPA, OSHA, DOT and GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative) requirements. Leads root cause analysis of accidents and incidents. Establishes and manages operating budget. Leads site incident management for food safety, environmental compliance and safety (FDA Recall, OSHA and EPA notifications). Defines problems, collects data, establishes facts, analyzes quality data and draws valid conclusions. Manages OSHA recordkeeping database and provide quantitative and qualitative monthly reports and other necessary governmental reports. Develops High-Performance Teams.

Background Required:
  • Large complex FDA regulated Food or Beverage Manufacturing (10 years)
  • QA, Food Safety, ESH progressive leadership (10 years)
  • FSMA, HACCP, GFSI, SQF/FSSC 22000, and FDA regulations
  • Proven track record of successful regulatory compliance, audits and reports (i.e. SQF, FSIS, FDA OSHA, Military and Customer)
  • Statistical process control, design of experiments, TQM, Six Sigma
  • TPM, Lean Manufacturing and High-Performance Teams
  • Root Cause Analysis and CAPA
  • SAP MES or other production monitoring systems with knowledge of SCADA and PLC
  • Greenfield start-up
  • Microsoft Office and computer skills
  • Travel 5%
  • Education: BS Engineering, Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry or related degree
  • Residence: Charlotte, SC (relocation assistance provided)
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • Single serve/portion food packaging
  • Master’s Degree
  • Lean and or Six Sigma Certified
  • HACCP, PCQI, Quality and/or Safety Certifications
