Senior Project Manager – Geotechnical Engineering
Location: Philadelphia, PA - Center City
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (Up to 3 days/week remote; Mondays in-office)
Compensation: $115,000 – $160,000 base salary + performance-based bonus
About the Opportunity
Our client, a leading civil engineering firm, is experiencing significant growth and seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead their Geotechnical Engineering division in Philadelphia. This role offers the chance to work on high-impact private sector projects, including data centers, higher education facilities, K–12 schools, industrial warehouses, and commercial developments. The firm boasts a robust project backlog and a dynamic team of 17 geotechnical professionals within a 96-person Philadelphia office.
Key Responsibilities

Lead geotechnical investigations and analyses for diverse private sector projects.

Prepare and oversee technical reports, specifications, and construction plans.

Design foundations, retaining walls, and other geotechnical aspects of construction.

Manage project budgets, schedules, and client communications.

Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineering staff.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
Qualifications

Education: Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering (required); Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.

Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license.

Experience: 10+ years in geotechnical engineering, with a focus on private sector projects.

Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with software such as gINT, Slide/SLOPE/W, PLAXIS, LPILE, GRLWEAP, MSEW, and SHAKE.
