Our long-standing client has engaged us to find a Senior Project Engineer – Packaging Equipment who will develop and implement numerous capital projects, troubleshoot machine and process problems, and conducts technical analysis of business opportunities for high volume packaging equipment from filling through warehousing for product lines that are packaged in plastic or metal primary containers in 7 plants throughout North America.
As a technical specialist will be assigned problems which require unique design/research approaches to problems as well as is routinely called on to troubleshoot engineering problems critical to the Division or Corporation. Major Responsibilities:
Analyzes results and applies technical judgment in making substantial adaptions and modifications.
Investigates/recommends novel technology and applications; develops, evaluates, implements strategic initiatives, leads projects/programs and technical team to develop significant new products or processes.
Perform economic analysis and feasibility studies for the installation of new equipment and/or modification and revision of existing equipment.
Evaluates, recommends, and executes cost-savings proposals.
Develops and reviews cost estimates and scopes and consults with manufacturing management regarding proposals for capital expenditures, repairs, and revisions.
Investigates, develops, and recommends alternatives for design, procurement, and installation of new/modified equipment or systems for the optimal utilization and control of resources.
Provides technical assistance and information to corporate process/R&D engineering and outside consultants, contractors, vendors, suppliers, and various departments within the company.
As part of corporate engineering team, will assist in the design of packaging equipment or systems for optimal performance as well as works with manufacturing plants to improve overall equipment effectiveness.
Directs the start-up of new and troubleshoot existing equipment to ensure optimal operation and performance.
Assists in the training of personnel required for the operation of equipment.
B.S. in Engineering required Mechanical or Electrical ideal
3+ years in food, pharmaceutical or consumer goods packaging equipment industry (case pack, palletizing, aseptic filling, spray dry powders, tetra pack )
Progressive technical experience and demonstrated competence in his/her field.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal, required.
Strong technical and leadership skills required. These communications, technical, and leadership skills, are required due to the high degree of interaction with many levels and areas of technical matters and motivational needs of the department
