Sr. Process Engineer - Paper
Provide Process Engineering for the Paper Manufacturing and Stock Prep areas of the facility. Drive Production and quality improvement initiatives by providing technical leadership in variability reduction, machine efficiency, process optimization, cost reduction, trial coordination and grade development.
- Ensuring compliance with existing safety rules and regulations. Foster a culture of safe work behavior and encourage safe working practices and conditions.
- Participate and lead initiatives to improve the overall performance, quality and production of the paper machines and pulp prep areas.
- Work closely with Supervisors and crews in developing or changing procedures to improve operations, cost management, quality and efficiency. Drive and promote world class performance.
- Play an active role in machine outages and unscheduled downtime events.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives through process optimization and quality enhancements.
- Develop standard operating procedures and process management systems throughout the Paper Manufacturing areas.
- Assist in developing new products; includes planning, coordination and execution of paper trials. Work as part of cross-functional teams with Sales, Customer Satisfaction, Sourcing, Maintenance and others.
- Work closely with suppliers on chemical trials to improve efficiency and reduce quality issues.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry or Paper Science is preferred. Significant experience may be substituted for degree
EXPERIENCE:
- 7 years’ experience in Paper Manufacturing is required.
- Outstanding Analytical skills are essential
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Enjoys working in teams.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office specifically Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Project
