Position Responsibilities:
Sr. National Sales Director reporting to the Vice President of Sales of a premier 3PL that specializes on site & private fleet services, strategic capacity services, and energy distribution services.
The Sr. National Director is responsible for the development of profitable Freight Brokerage business within his or her region. Will be responsible for the closing and development of profitable new business and managing the startup process after the sale. Will also coordinate with Managers, Pricing Analysts, and Operations team to create business solutions and long-term business relationships with perspective new customers. Challenge is to regionally expand account base, increase revenues, and improve profitability.
Background Required:
• Outside sales / Business Development within transportation/freight brokerage (10+ years)
• Service offering (i.e. Freight Brokerage, 3PL, LTL, Consolidation, TL)
• Strong Selling and closing capabilities
• Strong Negotiation Ability (Customer, Margin Integrity)
• Contractual Business Process (RFP, RFI, RFQ)
• Develop and execute business plan strategies
• Computer literate (Microsoft Suite: Power Point, Word, Excel)
• Residence: USA
Background Preferred (but not required):
• Freight Management Software
• Transportation Network understanding
• Education: College Graduate
Other Essential Abilities and Skills:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High energy with a sense of urgency
• Ability to multitask
• Team player
