Sr. National Account Executive

Job Title: Senior National Account Executive

Role Mandate: As a Senior National Account Executive, you'll drive growth in a fast­ paced freight brokerage by connecting customers with logistics solutions that move their freight efficiently and reliably. You'll manage your own portfolio of accounts, cultivating relationships through ongoing communication and a strong understanding of customer needs. From cold outreach to long-term account management, you'll represent our clients commitment to service excellence while leveraging our strengths in time-sensitive, high-touch, and specialty freight solutions.

Success in this role comes from identifying the right fit for our clients capabilities-whether that's expedited ground, temperature-controlled shipments, or complex supply chain needs-and delivering value through responsiveness, precision, and partnership.

Primary Responsibilities

Manage the entire sales cycle from prospecting to onboarding, partnering with the National Sales Manager and internal stakeholders

  • Build, manage, and grow customer relationships by identifying opportunities to expand services
  • Generate new leads through shipper and consignee conversations
  • Leverage industry relationships and networking to find strategic backhaul opportunities
  • Communicate customer needs clearly and in a timely manner to internal teams
  • Identify and execute on revenue-enhancing partnerships and long-term solutions
  • Provide thoughtful, professional post-sale support to maintain and strengthen customer loyalty
  • Maintain regular contact with clients to anticipate future needs and uncover additional business

Specific Tasks:

  • Use HubSpot CRM daily to manage outreach, meetings, email campaigns, and opportunity tracking
  • Record detailed pipeline activity and updates within HubSpot
  • Participate in weekly pipeline meetings and contribute to overall team goals
  • Conduct in-person visits and door-to-door outreach as part of your prospecting strategy
  • Collaborate closely with department leaders to close new business
  • Build cross-functional relationships with carrier sales and operations teams
  • Step into operations as needed to support smaller accounts or fill short-term gaps
  • Follow and document a clear process for transitioning accounts from sales to account management
  • Fully adopt internal systems, processes, and procedures to ensure consistency and visibility
  • Stay ahead of market trends and proactively build knowledge of transportation industry shifts
  • Take on additional projects and responsibilities as needed

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of freight brokerage or logistics sales experience preferred
  • Strong ability to work independently while contributing to a team-driven culture
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly motivated and goal-oriented with a track record of persistence
  • Confident cold caller with a consultative, assertive sales approach
  • Experience with HubSpot or similar CRM required
  • Experience with McLeod Transportation Management Software is a plus
