Sr. Mortgage Claims SME

The Sr. Mortgage Claims SME is part of our default team and reports to one of our team managers. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of all facets of mortgage claim filing and loss analysis management.

Responsibilities:

• Locate the necessary claim documentation in our systems, and file claims on time and accurately according to investor requirements.
• Prioritize any aged claims and maintain ongoing claims for all investor types.
• Track incoming claim payments from each investor and work directly with cashiering and the default team to ensure proper posting instructions are provided to apply claims proceeds accurately within the MSP system.
• Update our claims status tracking report and give management a weekly claims progress summary.
• Review all existing claims procedures or job aids for related investor system filing instructions and internal system processing instructions and submit edits to management as needed to ensure accurate and complete procedures.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years mortgage servicing claims experience, including claim filing and loss analysis
• Experience with processing all mortgage loan types: FNMA, FHLMC, USDA, GNMA, MI, FHA, VA, and VA
• Expert knowledge of all investor rules for FHA, VA, USDA, and GSE as it pertains to the claims and loss analysis process
• Ability to effectively collaborate with operations, company culture, assist in the develop and enhance management reporting, and report out the monthly results to senior management
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills, organizational and time management skills, and the ability to interface confidently with clients and auditors and to influence others in the organization to drive results
