Senior Manager, Strategic Planning

Job Summary:

The Senior Manager, Strategic Planning has a key role in developing and implementing the portfolio management for the company with a focus on idea generation, business case, selection, execution and benefits realization. This position is responsible for the overall strategic execution and quality of the processes and services provided to the banners and support departments. The position collaborates with all banners and corporate support business units to define, support, and provide actual project execution. This position monitors and analyzes business strategic plans execution across all business units of the company, supporting business owners with strategic support towards goal and plan completion.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Develop and implement the portfolio management for the company with a focus on idea generation, business case, selection, execution and benefits realization
  • Develop, implement and measure overall strategic execution and quality of processes and services provided to the banners and support departments
  • Collaborate with all banner and corporate support business units to define, support, and provide actual project execution
  • Monitor and analyze business strategic plans execution across all business units of the company; support business owners with strategic support towards goal and plan completion
  • Assist in all aspects of strategy and analytics, including ideation, new opportunity identification, modeling and sensitivity analysis to support strategic options, market sizing, competitive intelligence
  • Support cross functional initiatives to successfully achieve actions as a result of business insights
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers to develop initiatives that achieve sustainable growth
  • Direct and mentor other team members to help them advance their work product and grow professionally

Requirements (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

  • Knowledge of analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong experience and proven leadership in strategy (retail strategies preferred)
  • Ability to effectively negotiate, be customer-focused and stay current with business trends and best practices
  • Ability to work within a large complex environment, working with ambiguity and collaboration organization
  • Ability to lead a diverse team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and prioritizing skills

Education: Four-year college degree, or equivalent knowledge gained through formal education, specialized training, or additional job experience.

Experience: Five years of related experience preferred.
