Peterson Consulting Group is partnering with a leading heavy civil general contractor in the Pacific Northwest to hire an experienced Senior Estimator. Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering information and requirements; setting priorities
  • Prepares construction budgets by studying plans, updating specifications, identifying, and projecting job costs
  • Evaluates offers to purchase by costing changes, additions, and site condition requirements
  • Obtains bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials, identifying qualified subcontractors, and negotiating pricing
  • Resolves cost discrepancies by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Maintains quality service by following organization standards and standards of practice
  • Contributes to team goals by accomplishing related results as required

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5-year record of success estimating civil construction projects including mass excavation, grading, utilities, paving, and demolition
  • Proficient with estimating platforms such as HeavyBid, AGTEK, or comparable software
  • Ability to lead estimating efforts and establish pricing structures, processes, and proposal delivery from conceptual estimate to project buyout
  • Experience supporting field and project management teams with scope development, bid requirements, schedule of values, and contractual language
  • Demonstrated experience developing methodologies to streamline and improve estimating functions
  • Skilled in plan/spec review, subcontractor and supplier coordination, plan room management, and technical proposal writing
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
