The Estimator position requires 7+ years of Estimating experience with a self-performing civil construction firm with expertise in earthwork, underground utilities, paving, and/or structures projects. Because this position will have oversight of projects, the ideal candidate will be familiar with alternative delivery methods and procedures and be able to work closely with the existing team.

The position will also take part in calculating the costs of a broad range of projects. The goal is to provide accurate information to help in operations and strategic planning, manage quantity takeoffs, produce proposals, and review bid instructions, plans, specifications, and related bid documents. Building strong relationships with clients is key to the success of this position.

Must have experience in two or more of the following areas: bridges or concrete structures, excavation, underground utilities, site concrete, or asphalt paving.

Required Experience/Skills/Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in heavy civil construction with an emphasis in public works, heavy highway, bridges or concrete structures, underground utilities, or commercial or residential site work arena
  • Experience with any of the following: HCSS HeavyBid, AASHTOWare, AGTEK, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office, and/or Primavera P6
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience
  • Negotiated project experience ideal, including technical writing skills, project proposal development in CMAR, CM/GC, and Design Build.
