Responsibilities
  • The Senior Electrical Engineer provides electrical expertise to the design team and acts as the primary point of contact for electrical related project issues. Daily tasks require the ability to apply electrical theory and practical knowledge in the lifecycle of projects.
  • Perform electrical calculations (size breakers, fuses, starters, transformers, conductors, raceway and calculate total loads, heat loss, voltage drop).
  • Keep engineering deliverables on time, every time and within budget; Read and interpret customer job specifications; Design electrical systems, select components and complete a BOM; Submit materials for order; Review and approve design packages; Prepare submittals to shop and customer.
  • Interface with sales, customer and shop; Direct designers in completing wiring diagrams; Develop ITP and assist in customer FAT.
  • Interpret redlines to develop As-Built drawings
  • Texas residents preferred. $150K-$170K.

Requirements
  • The Sr. Electrical Engineer will have a BSEE and 3+ years of experience in design of power systems, lighting systems, UPS systems, grounding systems, and utility systems.
  • Must be able to work remote and have flexibility to meet business needs.
  • Ability to test or assist in testing of MV, LV gear and control systems is required to validate the performance of electrical equipment.
  • Able to apply NEC, UL, ANSI, TDLR and other codes as it applies to the day-to-day activity.
  • Able to read and interpret electrical symbols, characters, and modify drawings.
  • Basic understanding of power system and relay applications as applied to products.
  • Able to design one product in the most economical way while achieving quality.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
