Sr. Director, SAP S/4 Hana Lead
Position Summary
The Sr. Director, SAP S4 IT Lead leads and shapes, in conjunction with the Sr. Director, S4 Business
Lead (two-in-the-box), the vision for our journey to create a common core as part of our digital
transformation journey. This role is responsible for leading and managing the implementation of our
SAP S/4 HANA transformation. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in program
management (particularly within SAP projects), a strong understanding of project management
methodologies, and be adept at managing all aspects of large-scale IT program implementations.
We are looking for an enterprise leader that will bring their overall knowledge and expertise to this
transformation and sees themselves as influencing well beyond IT.
Accountabilities
Lead large, complex programs within a matrixed structure and utilizing multiple partners.
Manage and provide overall direction, coordination and guidance to the “team” that supports
and drives the transformation, including prioritizing activities, evaluating performance,
and reporting progress.
Engage the organization, including the leadership team, functional experts, and enabling
teams in the pursuit of the S4 objectives.
In conjunction with the Sr. Director, Business Leader:
• Own the successful design, development and execution of SAP S4 Hana.
• Oversee all aspects of the program, including budget, schedule, scope, risk, and resources.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive program plan aligned with business goals.
• Ensure roles and responsibilities are clear throughout across the program.
• Manage dependencies between different workstreams.
• Identify, analyze, and mitigate program risks.
• Develop and implement a change management strategy to ensure user adoption.
• Develop, track, and control the S4 operating and capital budgets.
• Oversee on-time/on-budget/in scope delivery of projects that deliver anticipated results.
• Identify and negotiate opportunities for the cost-effective investment of financial resources
including staffing, sourcing, purchasing, in-house development, and strategic outsourcing.
Required Skills and Experience
Proven experience in leading and motivating cross-functional teams.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related field; Master’s degree or MBA is highly
desirable; equivalent experience will be evaluated.
Twelve or more years working in a business environment with a focus on business process and
strategy.
Ten or more years of management experience
Ten or more years of SAP experience
Must have worked in at least one S/4 Transformation as a Program Manager/Leader.
In-depth knowledge of SAP S/4 HANA concepts, functionalities, and best practices.
Strong understanding of project management principles.
Excellent technical knowledge.
Desire to stay abreast of technology and regulatory changes that affect the business.
Strong understanding of human resource management principles, practices, and procedures.
Proven ability to make complex technical and vendor tradeoffs producing top business value.
History of negotiating large contracts for best possible terms.
Ability to manage distributed teams.
Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Excellent written and oral communications skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
Preferred Skills and Experience
Experience with large multi-national company
Experience within Consumer Package Goods/manufacturing industry
Demonstrated knowledge of running product and platform focused scaled agile, devops or
scrum teams

& Regional Business Leadership & Stakeholders
• Key relationships externally with select Strategic IT Partners.
