Sr. Controls Systems Analyst

The Sr. Control Systems Analyst is responsible for the control systems throughout the plant working in collaboration with other departments. The position is responsible for maintaining the control system, troubleshooting operational problems with the production team and assisting the hourly workforce of electricians to maintain and operate the electrical system at the plant.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensuring continuous improvement of Overall Equipment Efficiency (% reliability and % rate performance).

  • Maintain and further improve (a) root-cause failure analyses of significant or chronic equipment failures and (b) development and use of reliability action plans based upon RCFAs and downtime analysis techniques.

  • Ensuring the inspection program (knowledge of equipment condition) is being executed using proper techniques.

  • Participating in the capital improvement and replacement annual budget for the entire plant to meet goals and objectives for asset management. Reviewing and assisting in the engineering and installation of capital projects.

  • Developing and refining the PM/PDM maintenance program. Coordinating all efforts with equipment custodians and maintenance management to ensure the program is properly approved and endorsed by both departments.

  • Coordinating with planners and schedulers to ensure that correct PM/PDM inspections are scheduled and performed when due.

  • Managing, controlling, and analyzing all data, records, and equipment histories to continually review and refine inspection frequencies.

  • Developing solutions to repetitive equipment failures and process losses, implementing ways of reducing the need for maintenance, and ultimately eliminating the occurrences of failures.

  • Participating in approval of all new installations and major repairs, including those done by contractors, to ensure their maintainability and reliability.

  • Complete all assigned work in compliance with federal, provincial and local regulatory requirements.

  • Complete responsibilities while strictly adhering to all company safety policies and procedures, ensuring their compliance by others through actions, deeds, communications and any other means appropriate to maintain the safety and health of all employees.

  • Supporting plant environmental programs and requirements with engineering solutions and day-to-day maintenance activities.

  • Develop effective maintenance cost control and improvement program.

  • Participation in on-call rotation within the maintenance department

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor degree or Diploma in Electrical - engineering, technician, technologist.

  • Strong background in ethernet networks, computer networking and Virtual Servers.

  • Experience with Rockwell Software, PLC5, SLC500 and Controllogix or similar systems.

  • Related work experience preferred

  • Good communication skills

  • Detail oriented

  • Organization skills

  • Supervisory experience a plus

  • CMMS experience, SAP preferred

  • Action plans development and management

  • Experience in plant operations and/or maintenance preferred
