Sr. Commodity Manager - Metro Detroit - 100% remote

Our client, a privately-owned global organization that manufactures electromechanical components for the automotive industry, is looking to add a Sr. Commodity Manager to their team. This position will focus on the area with the largest current growth potential in the company.

Responsibilities  

The Senior Commodity Manager is responsible for requesting quotes, selecting & negotiating with approved vendors, and placing purchasing orders in response to service or material requirements. In addition, this person will:

• Purchase general and specialized equipment, materials, or business services
• Assess requirements and develop specifications for equipment, materials, and supplies to be purchased
• Invite tenders, consult with suppliers, and review quotations
• Determine or negotiate contract terms and conditions
• Improve computerized tool inventory control system

Experience 

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or Engineering
• 2-5 years of technical experience working with electronics or mechatronics
• Advanced computer skills, especially Excel, Outlook, and OneNote
