Senior Audit Manager – Governmental

We are seeking an experienced Senior Audit Manager with a strong background in governmental auditing. The ideal candidate will oversee audit engagements, manage client relationships, and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations within the public sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage governmental audit engagements, including planning, execution, and reporting

  • Supervise and mentor audit staff, providing guidance on technical issues and professional development

  • Review workpapers, financial statements, and audit reports for accuracy and compliance

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with governmental clients, ensuring high-quality service delivery

  • Ensure audits are performed in accordance with GAAP, GAAS, and Government Auditing Standards

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and provide value-added insights to clients

  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies and stay current on changes in governmental accounting and auditing standards

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required

  • 6+ years of progressive audit experience, with significant governmental audit exposure

  • Strong knowledge of governmental accounting standards, regulations, and reporting requirements

  • Proven experience managing multiple audit engagements and leading teams

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and client management skills
