Private Assets Research - Sr. Associate or VP

Our client is seeking an investment professional to join their Private Assets Research Group. The Sr. Associate or Vice President will support the identification of new private market investment opportunities, conduct market research, and monitor existing investments. This is an in-office position where the person is expected to work in office on a full-time basis in Marina del Rey, CA.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Investment manager due diligence: The Sr. Associate or Vice President will support the buyout strategy in sourcing new investment opportunities. The professional will liaise with managers, attend due diligence meetings, perform performance and portfolio analysis utilizing data in Excel, write performance analysis, and provide investment recommendations and other materials for clients.
  • Investment monitoring: The professional will conduct regular investment monitoring calls with existing managers and provide summaries of key performance drivers, portfolio changes and organizational developments. The associate will track and analyze key portfolio and performance metrics.
  • Industry research: The professional will be responsible for industry research in private equity. The professional will conduct research to monitor market trends and contribute to the team’s quarterly market outlook, webinars, and research papers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or economics.
  • 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Must have experience working in private equity.
  • Must have a developed understanding of investment management and financial analysis.
  • The candidate will possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be proficient with Excel.
  • The candidate should be a self-starter who can work effectively, both independently and as part of a team.
  • The ability to multi-task is a must.
