Job Summary: Responsible for managing capital project budgets, maintaining financial records for fixed assets, ensuring accurate accounting for contracts, and assisting with financial reporting and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:

Set up and track budgets for capital projects, ensuring timely updates and closings.

Perform monthly and quarterly financial reconciliations, focusing on utility plant records.

Maintain fixed asset accounting, including depreciation and financial reporting.

Audit and process contract-related transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Support financial reporting for SEC filings, government surveys, and regulatory requirements.

Assist with data requests from internal departments and auditors.

Process refunds and improve contract management processes.

Perform other assigned duties as needed.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field.

5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the utility industry.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with JD Edwards or similar ERP is a plus.

Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.

Ability to research, interpret, and compile financial data.
