One of our private sector clients, a renowned physiotherapy and chiropractic clinic, is looking for a Sports Physiotherapist to join their growing team on a full-time basis in Downtown Ottawa. If you have extensive experience in treating athletes and providing specialized care to meet the high demands of their sport, this role is perfect for you!
Salary range: $90,000 or commission-based (both options available)
About you
To be successful, you will need:
- 2+ years of experience in sports physiotherapy —experience working with elite athletes is an asset
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physiotherapy or relevant field —certification in specific sports physiotherapy techniques and/or neurokinetic therapy is an asset
- Valid physiotherapist license
- Proficient in shockwave therapy, spinal decompression, acupuncture, myofascial release, and other therapies
- Strong understanding of athletes’ physical demands and ability to provide tailored care
About the role
If hired, you will:
- Diagnose and treat sports injuries with biomechanical assessments
- Implement and manage shockwave therapy, spinal decompression, acupuncture, myofascial release therapy, and trigger point therapy
- Design and supervise post-surgical rehab programs for athletes
- Create and track exercise programs for performance and injury prevention, including training programs for elite athletes
- Use electrical modalities and neurokinetic therapy
- Manage conditions such as ankle sprains, hamstring strains, shin splints, back & neck pain, low back pain, knee pain & injuries, and general pain & tingling
- Offer immediate care for injured athletes and manage various athletic injuries
- Work with other health care professionals and educate athletes on injury prevention
