Speech Language Pathologist at Skilled Nursing Facility

Salary: $83,200.00 - $104,000.00 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate residents' conditions and develop individualized care plans to address their specific needs.
  • Implement suitable activities designed to aid residents in their daily tasks and improve their communication abilities.
  • Closely monitor the execution of resident tasks, providing support and adjustments as needed to ensure effective progress.
  • Conduct regular assessments to monitor resident progress and provide comprehensive reports documenting these observations.
  • Assist in the rehabilitation of residents, focusing on empowering them to regain abilities and enhance quality of life.
  • Ensure a safe and clean work environment that complies with regulatory and facility standards.
  • Protect the confidentiality of all resident information, ensuring that all practices comply with privacy regulations.
  • Audit resident and department records regularly to maintain accurate documentation of care and services provided.
  • Promote a cooperative team environment among healthcare colleagues to optimize patient care and operational efficiency.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited Speech Therapy Program.
  • Hold a current New York State License as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Prior experience in speech therapy, particularly in a skilled nursing or rehabilitation setting preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop effective treatment plans and conduct therapy sessions.
  • Exceptional observational and analytical skills to accurately assess patients and adjust interventions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, crucial for interacting with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) highly preferred.
  • Experience with electronic health record systems.
  • Background in handling complex cases and chronic conditions.
  • Knowledge of current therapy practices and principles applicable to all ages and types of disabilities.
