Speech Language Pathologist at Senior Care Facility

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at a highly-rated skilled nursing facility in Lancaster, NY. Salary: $61,000.00 - $91,000.00 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Screen residents for communication problems and conduct in-depth evaluations.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on physician's orders and coordinate with other healthcare professionals.
  • Conduct audiometric screenings and make referrals for further audiological evaluation when necessary.
  • Document evaluations, therapy progression, and discharge summaries meticulously.
  • Participate in care planning meetings to discuss and integrate speech-language therapy with residents’ overall care objectives.
  • Maintain records including statistical reports, in-service education, budget, and materials inventory.
  • Prepare and submit statistical reports for Medicare billing and complete assessment forms as required.
  • Engage in regular in-service training and contribute to staff educational programs.
  • Review and revise speech-language policies and procedures annually.
  • Adhere to safety standards and promote the highest degree of quality care.
  • Generate ideas to improve care quality and efficiency in treatments.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to meet department and facility needs.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • M.A. or M.S. Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Valid New York State license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven record of collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary team members.
  • Commitment to upholding the facility’s core values, including integrity and respect for each individual.
  • Certification or eligibility for Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a skilled nursing or senior care facility.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and lead staff education programs.
  • Advanced knowledge of Medicare documentation and billing procedures.
  • Experience with electronic health record systems.
  • Capacity to initiate and sustain innovative therapy programs tailored to community needs.
