Sonographer - Vascular

They are seeking a dedicated and skilled Sonographer specializing in Vascular imaging to join their team. As an integral part of their healthcare system, the Sonographer will be responsible for performing high-quality ultrasound examinations, ensuring accurate capture and documentation of vascular images. The role involves direct patient interaction, explaining procedures, and monitoring patient comfort and safety.

Schedule -
Tuesday and Thursday and every other weekend 3pm to 11:30pm
Monday to Friday 3p to 11:30pm. Alternating weekend
Wednesday and every other weekend 10:30p to 7am (32hrs)
Monday-Friday from 10:30pm - 7:00am with alternating weekends

Focus:

  • Ensure all exams are ordered correctly in HIS/RIS, charged, and tracked accurately.
  • Communicate with patients before the procedure, explain risks and expectations, and monitor safety and comfort during the procedure.
  • Obtain complete patient history for the radiologist to assist in rendering results.
  • Enter data such as type of scan, select proper transducer, and techniques.
  • Conduct scans according to set protocols per organ or anatomical site and accurately annotate images.
  • View images on a video display screen to ensure quality, and review scans with the radiologist prior to releasing the patient as necessary.
  • Prepare images and compile studies for the radiologist, relaying all appropriate information.
  • Assist and accurately set up for amniocentesis, aspiration, and biopsies by performing preliminary studies to locate appropriate entry sites and provide needle direction guidance.
  • Call referring physicians for 'wet readings' after reviewing the images with a radiologist.
  • Perform clerical tasks such as receiving orders, scheduling patients, and recordkeeping.
  • Maintain and clean work area and equipment.
  • Replenish supplies and stock rooms as needed.

Skills Required:

  • 2 to 3 years of undergraduate education or equivalent.
  • Certification with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.

Preferred:

  • Experience in General Ultrasound, Breast, and Vascular Imaging.
