Job Description

Our direct client is seeking a Power BI / Analytics SME to serve as the technical lead for enterprise analytics initiatives in a manufacturing environment. This person will be the go-to expert for Power BI, partnering with business and technical stakeholders to define requirements, design solutions, lead projects, and resolve complex issues.

The ideal candidate combines strong Power BI and data architecture expertise with excellent communication skills and the ability to translate business needs into practical technical solutions. Experience with manufacturing data and an understanding of how analytics can support future AI initiatives are highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Power BI SME and technical voice for the organization.
  • Lead analytics projects from requirements gathering through delivery and production support.
  • Design and develop scalable Power BI dashboards, reports, and end-to-end semantic models.
  • Work with large datasets and optimize Power BI performance and data models.
  • Develop solutions using Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Fabric Lakehouse, Azure data platforms, SQL, and Python.
  • Work with data from SAP, MES, and other enterprise systems.
  • Manage Power BI Service, including workspaces, deployments, refreshes, security, and troubleshooting.
  • Use Power Automate to automate business processes and analytics workflows.
  • Establish Power BI development, governance, and data modeling best practices.
  • Partner with business stakeholders and clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Help evaluate emerging analytics and AI capabilities and prepare the data environment to support future AI initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on Power BI experience, including Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
  • Strong expertise in DAX, Power Query, SQL, and semantic/data modeling.
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric and/or Fabric Lakehouse.
  • Experience working with large datasets and enterprise data environments.
  • Strong Power Automate experience.
  • Experience with Python for data analysis or automation.
  • Experience leading analytics projects and gathering business requirements.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work onsite in Anderson, SC.

Preferred

  • Manufacturing industry experience.
  • Experience with SAP and MES data.
  • Azure Data Factory or other Azure data platform experience.
  • Experience preparing data and analytics environments for AI/GenAI.
  • Power BI / PL-300 certification.
