Are you a skilled software engineer with a passion for embedded systems and printer firmware development? This is your chance to be a key player in a rapidly growing company developing high-resolution printing solutions for sports equipment.

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to lead the development of firmware and software for an innovative high-resolution custom printer. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on patent-pending technology with long-term product development potential, from personal-use devices to large-scale commercial printing solutions.

Why You Should Apply:

Innovative Tech: Work on high-resolution printing technology, up to 2600 DPI.

Growth Opportunity: Be part of a long-term roadmap that includes multicolor, high-capacity, and kiosk-based printers.

Impactful Work: Your contributions will directly influence the success of an emerging product category.

Remote Flexibility: Work from anywhere in the U.S. with a preference for Eastern & Central time zones.

Versatile Role: Open to full-time, contract, or part-time contract arrangements.

What You’ll Be Doing:

🔹 Software & Firmware Development: Enhance existing software to drive a single-color HP 45 printhead with stepper motor integration for ball rotation.

🔹 Embedded Systems Engineering: Implement motor control, micro stepping, and printhead drivers using Python, C++, and Arduino-based environments.

🔹 Product Evolution: Develop new features for future models, including a 48-ball batch printer and multicolor printing systems.

🔹 System Integration: Ensure seamless communication between hardware components, including stepper motors and PC interfaces.

🔹 Testing & Troubleshooting: Debug and refine firmware and software for optimal performance and reliability.

🔹 Documentation & Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders to define system functionality and maintain technical documentation.

What You Bring to the Table:

Printer Software Expertise: Experience working with HP, Epson, or similar printheads (HP 45 experience preferred).

Embedded Programming Skills: Strong knowledge of Python, C++, PyQT5, Arduino IDE, and Teensy microcontrollers.

Full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC): From requirement gathering to deployment and ongoing optimization.

Problem-Solving Mindset: Ability to troubleshoot complex firmware/software issues and optimize system performance.

Hardware Integration Knowledge: Understanding of motion control, stepper motors, and printer drivers.

Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Bonus Skills (Nice to Have):

🔹 Experience with kiosk-based printing or commercial-scale printing solutions.

🔹 Familiarity with cloud-based or IoT-driven printing technologies.

How You’ll Fit In:

📌 This is a contract-first role, with the potential to transition into a full-time position based on performance and business needs.

📌 Compensation will be based on experience, contract type, and investor discussions.

📌 The role is fully remote, but candidates in Eastern or Central time zones are preferred for better collaboration.
