Our client is a rapidly growing computer software company. Their innovative software technology provides businesses with the tools to streamline and optimize their service offerings. They are hiring a Software Development Manager to support hands-on software development while providing strategic, and technical leadership.

The Software Development Manager will be working hands-on to develop full-stack software throughout the company’s initial growth stages. As the company grows, this role will advance into more of a leadership position and eventually build out an internal engineering team to support further product development.

Focus:

  • Work hands-on to architect, design, prototype, implement, and maintain computer software solutions.
  • Manage the software product through total SDLC, troubleshooting complex technical issues as they arise.
  • Provide strategic and operational expertise to help scale up the business and execute vision/priorities.
  • Ensure product delivery meets design specifications and compliance.
  • Support the technical design, integration, and development of highly complex, cross-functional, multi-platform, software systems.
  • Work proactively to mitigate issues by running continuous testing, and by implementing reliable design patterns.
  • Build out internal engineering team and manage team oversight, based on company growth.
  • Identify optimal path for new product deployment and work with the DevOps, R&D, Product Management, and Marketing teams on go-to-market execution.
  • Develop and cultivate strong relationship with key stakeholders to drive the planning and execution of vital strategic and operational goals.

Skill Set:

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience with a firm background in management.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in related technical field, required. MBA a plus.
  • Strong technical background within the computer software and SaaS space.
  • Hands-on experience as full-stack developer. Skillset in Python, C++, Node, and Angular.
  • Background in DevOps with working knowledge of Mongo and GCP.
  • Experience and working knowledge of Windows and Mac applications.
  • Strong skillset in QA testing, Jira, and GitHub, working in an agile environment.
  • Containerization and Kubernetes background, a plus.
  • Industry experience in B2B audio strategies and processes, a plus.
  • Proven success managing remote and offshore teams, owning strategy roadmaps.
  • Leadership-minded, analytical thinker, motivated problem-solver ready to tackle every issue head-on and be flexible.
  • Experience leading a small team
  • Proven knowledge of AI road mapping
  • Ability to mentor and grow a team
