Software Deployment Specialist

Our client, an international leader in the transportation industry is seeking a Software Deployment Specialist to join their team. The Software Deployment Specialist is responsible for creating deployment plans and organizing the necessary change approvals on the customer side. The role is responsible for overseeing the successful deployment of new software releases, testing environments, and evaluating the risk of all made changes to these environments. The right person for this role will take initiative to explore new opportunities to add value to the organization and stay current on by on all products/technology for service advancement!


  • Creates deployment plans based on feedback from the Project Manager(s), Market Lead, and customers, and organizes the necessary change approvals on customer side
  • Responsible for incorporating and validating changes to software modules and configurations, and for staged qualification & deployment of the Software Release Package for a successful deployment to production environments
  • Evaluate risk of all made changes to evaluate need for re-testing
  • Keep staging environment up to date (to reflect current state of production environment)
  • Request necessary trainings and documentation from appropriate teams and perform quality checks and full functionality tests
  • Collaborate with development team and Market/ Project Teams to fix of issues that prevent a successful deployment
  • Repair, troubleshoot, modify, and test equipment
  • Provide coaching and support for customer personnel
  • Provide on-call support as required, including covering scheduled on-call rotations; providing on-site emergency service with short notice; and responding to customer trouble calls, close incident reports and follow-ups
  • Maintain accurate, ethical reporting of appropriate business documents
  • Contribute to team effort by welcoming new and different work requirements; exploring new opportunities to add value to the organization; and providing management & sales teams with information to approach new opportunities
  • Take initiative to stay current on all products, technology, and service advancements in order to perform job responsibilities at the highest level


  • S. Degree or Equivalent Significant Experience in Software Engineering or Software Support
  • Advanced experience with software configuration and custom development
  • Ability to understand the business requirements and convert them into solution designs
  • Ability to articulate a technical solution into audience-appropriate language and terminology
  • Must demonstrate good judgment and pragmatic approach to delivering a solution that optimizes architecture activities across company needs, business constraints and technological realities
  • This position requires travel to customer and non-customer sites within the assigned local territory in North America, as well as 35% or more of their time to travel in support of projects outside their assigned territory in Europe
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license and have access to a vehicle regularly
