Job Impulse, Inc. has immediate openings for Slitter Operators in Grover, NC. Our client is a fabric manufacturer. The position starts at $15/hr.

Qualifications

• Employee must have at least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of SAP preferred.
• Must possess good problem-solving skills
• Basic math skills
• Must work harmoniously with co-workers
• Must have a “can-do” attitude
• Must be detail oriented
• Steel toes required

Requirements / Responsibilities

• Proven experience operating slitting machines and strong mechanical aptitude.
• Responsible for adjusting blade distance according to production order, doffing, installing new paper core, pulling out shaft, operating slitter, and setting slitter parameters
• Operate slitter by following Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and processing requirements
• Responsible for slit quality, changing blades using a schedule while following SOP to reduce waste
• Ensure order can be completed on time
• Responsible for finishing slit orders for the shift and avoiding shutdowns caused by slitting
• Responsible for filing slit records and checking the condition of blades based on procedures
• Responsible for matching of production order and produced rolls for type of material, specifications and quantity
• Complete other slit related tasks assigned by the Production Department
• Remove defects according to the information provided by team leader or production line operator.
• Check fabric during slitting and respond immediately to any problems
• Responsible for the cleanliness of slitter and the area around as well as basic maintenance for blades and machine.
• Responsible for reporting machine issue to team leader for repair needs and assisting in the machine repair
• Coordinate with packaging operators and assist packaging and labeling tasks as needed
• Assist production line start-ups and shutdowns under direction of team leader
• Collaborate with machine operators and packaging operators for break times in a rotation to ensure that there are people on duty for production all the time
• Assist machine operator with Crane/Hoist operation to move rolls between winder and slitter
• Assist scheduled and nonscheduled maintenance
• Responsible for shift turnover to oncoming slitter operator
• Responsible for reporting issues to Team Leader by communicating openly and honestly
• Monitor machine performance during run time
• Ensure that the slitter is running as expected, report any problems to Team leader
• Follow Procedures and complete documents accurately
• Follow ALL company policies with special emphasis on safety

Working Conditions

• Must be able to work 12-hour rotating shifts
• Must be able to work in heat/cold conditions
• Must be able to work in a team environment
• Hearing levels are high; therefore, you Must adhere to wearing appropriate PPE always.
