Overview
Staffmed Health Partners is seeking an experienced Skilled Nursing Director of Nursing to provide leadership, direction, and support for a 60-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation operation in Houston, Texas. This role emphasizes quality patient care, robust process improvement, and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Salary and Benefits
- Salary Range: $98,384.00 - $140,000.00 USD
- Bonus: 20% annual bonus based on performance
- Relocation Package: None
Responsibilities
- Leadership & Management: Direct day-to-day operations, maintain 24/7 operational responsibility, and oversee nursing administrative staff, direct care, and non-direct care staff.
- Patient Care: Ensure the delivery of quality care to patients, considering diverse needs through the entire continuum of care.
- Compliance & Standards: Adhere to Skilled Nursing Regulations, Standards, Operating principles, and all local, state, and federal guidelines.
- Budget & Finance: Plan, implement, review, and control the budget, staffing, and process improvement, collaborating with the Director of Operations and Director of Finance.
- Physician Engagement: Promote collaboration with medical staff to ensure programs and care meet the needs of patients.
- Professional Development: Promote individual growth, support department-based goals, and may serve as a mentor to less experienced staff.
Qualifications
- Education: Nursing degree required (RN or LVN); Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Experience: 5+ years of DON experience within Skilled Nursing, Long term care, Short Term care, or Rehab facility.
- Licenses/Certifications: Current State of Texas license or temporary/compact license to practice professional nursing. Professional Certification within one year of hire preferred.
Principal Accountabilities
- Operations Management: Direct the operations for the University Place skilled nursing and rehabilitation unit.
- Staffing & Performance: Review and approve all new hires, coordinate training needs, and provide ongoing feedback on performance.
- Strategic Planning: Work with service line leaders to establish departmental goals and strategic plans.
- Quality Measures: Manage clinical systems and quality measures to ensure clinical outcomes fall within state and federal guidelines.
- Patient Evaluation: Evaluate current and potential patient referral records to ensure appropriate level of care and services.
