Site Safety Manager

Based in Western Sydney this role is to commence late January 2022

40 hours per week as required for a period of approx. 46 weeks.

Responsibilities

Working for the main subcontractor the role will be responsible for managing all HSE matters for the construction site in relation to the organisation’s personnel on site – up to 200 people at any one time

This may include but not limited to:

  • Review and revise HSE documentation to meet local requirements
  • Induct and train staff in relation to HSE
    Review SEMS as required. Undertake audits and inspections
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities

Minimum experience

Demonstrated experience in managing HSE operation on large industrial construction sites

An effective communicator with the ability to negotiate, influence and use diplomacy with clients, colleagues and contractors at all levels.

Knowledge of appropriate permitting and licencing required

Certificate IV Work Health and Safety (and ideally an OHS Practitioner/ Professional)

Preferred experience with

Ability to navigate drawing packages

Ability to interpret legal trade contracts in relation to contractors and site

Relevant Health & Safety qualification. (e.g. Diploma in OHS/WHS, or equivalent)

Relevant training for emergency protocols e.g. first aid, fire warden etc.
