About the Company:
Our client is an award-winning architectural fabricator in Toronto, ON. They have an extensive portfolio of projects across the globe and worked with many customers in the residential, commercial, institutional, retail, hospitality, etc. Operating in a 100,000+ sq ft. warehouse they have a large team of architects, designers and fabricators and are seeking an experience Shop Foreman to lead their crew in a their Fabrication Department.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the Assembly & Wood Fabrication department, overseeing the space, equipment, and personnel
• Manage tools, equipment, and inventory, maintaining readiness for current and upcoming projects
• Supervise a crew of 10-20 people in the department and manage schedules, time tracking, and staff performance
• Plan and execute fabrication strategies, ensuring high-quality production and on-time delivery
• Liaise between design teams and the woodshop
• Troubleshoot production challenges, finding efficient solutions while maintaining quality standards
• Adhere to Health and Safety Policy and Procedures
• Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes, reduce production time, and enhance efficiency
• Other duties assigned
  

Requirements:

• 5+ years of leadership in a custom fabrication, millwork or similar environment
• Experience working with a wide variety of materials and specialized tools for complex fabrication
• Expertise in woodworking techniques, tools, and material handling
• Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to motivate and manage teams
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues unique to custom fabrication
• Experience in inventory management, scheduling, and quality control
• Excellent communication skills
