Job Title: Shipping Personnel – Forklift Driver
Shift: Day Shift (6:00 AM – 3:00 PM)
Overtime: Up to 15 hours per week
Pay: $16–$22/hour (negotiable, based on experience)

Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shipping Personnel – Forklift Driver to join our metal processing facility. This role is responsible for safely handling, organizing, and loading large steel plates and parts while ensuring accuracy in all outgoing shipments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts to move large steel plates, parts, and materials safely and efficiently
  • Accurately pull, stage, and load orders for shipment
  • Verify that all parts associated with each job are accounted for and properly organized
  • Ensure shipments are loaded correctly to prevent damage during transport
  • Maintain a clean and organized shipping area
  • Follow all safety procedures and company policies
  • Assist with inventory checks and material handling as needed

Qualifications

  • Valid forklift certification (required)
  • Proven experience operating forklifts in an industrial or metal processing environment
  • Experience handling large steel plates and heavy materials
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order fulfillment
  • Ability to read and interpret job orders and shipping documents
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work overtime as needed

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move heavy materials
  • Comfortable working in an industrial environment
  • Standing, walking, and operating machinery for extended periods

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in shipping and receiving within a manufacturing or metal processing facility
  • Familiarity with inventory systems and shipping documentation
