POSITION SUMMARY
SKILLS & ABILITIES Education/Experience
•High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) required; Associate's Degree(two year college or technical school) preferred; Bachelor's Degree (four year college or technical school) or Work Equivalent preferred; 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting. Associate’s Degree (two year college or technical school) or related work experience and/or training in a manufacturing environment.
• Oversees that department operators are meeting quality standards in a safe and efficient manner.
• Review processing schedules or production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing
requirements, work procedures, or duty assignments, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints.
• Develop or implement production tracking or quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control,
maintenance, or other operational reports, to detect production problems.
• Complete performance evaluations on time and routinely support feedback from production employees.
• Set and monitor product standards, examining samples of raw products or directing testing during processing, to
ensure finished products are of prescribed quality.
• Prepare and maintain production reports.
• Coordinate or recommend procedures for facility or equipment maintenance or modification, including the
replacement of machines.
• Review plans and confer with research and support staff to develop new processes in production.
• Follow all aspects of the company's 5-S and Preventive Maintenance programs (PM's). Check daily to ensure that
the employees are following the programs and that they are completing the proper documentation.
• Have knowledge and experience with operating cranes, hoists, and forklifts.
• Must have good communication and people skills.
• Create a team environment with opportunities to learn and grow.
• Must be able to read and interpret drawings, follow routings, use simple math, and use basic handheld measuring
tools.
• Focus on Lean Manufacturing and inventory control. Understand and be able to apply the concepts of lean
manufacturing as it relates to our production environment. Use of visual controls, kaizen, standard work, etc. to
improve safety, quality, and productivity.
• Follow company safety rules in accordance with OSHA regulations such as: wearing (PPE) safety shoes, safety
glasses, and ear plugs. Ensure that the area complies with all OSHA standards.
• Assist and support the Continuous Improvement efforts for the plant, including 5S, Kaizen, VSM’ing, etc. supports
actions as needed and assigned.
• Maintains 5-S standards for the department. Be a leader for the area and set expectations.
