Job Overview:
Our client, a Harley-Davidson dealership in the Upper Midwest, is seeking a motivated and experienced Service Manager to lead and manage their Service Department. This role is essential for ensuring top-notch customer service, maintaining high-performance standards for the team, and maximizing the efficiency and profitability of the service department. Service manager experience NOT required.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in service within the motorcycle industry, a passion for motorcycles and/or powersports, and the ability to inspire and develop a team. Valid M1 endorsement required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of the Service Department, including scheduling, workflow, and quality control to ensure timely and high-quality service.
  • Lead, mentor, and train a team of Service Technicians, Service Writers, and other staff to foster a positive and efficient work environment.
  • Ensure the Service Department meets or exceeds company and manufacturer standards for customer satisfaction and quality.
  • Work closely with the Parts and Sales departments to maximize opportunities for revenue growth.
  • Manage department financials, including setting and achieving budget goals, tracking profitability, and managing expenses.
  • Maintain knowledge of the latest Harley-Davidson product updates, technical service bulletins, and industry trends to keep the team informed and up-to-date.
  • Implement and enforce company policies, procedures, and safety standards to maintain compliance and operational efficiency.

Qualifications (A plus, but not required):

  • Experience in the Service department in a powersports, automotive, or related industry; Harley-Davidson or Powersports dealership experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to motivate staff to achieve performance goals.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills to manage department workflow and maintain a high standard of service.
  • Solid understanding of Service Department financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to handle complex customer issues professionally.
  • Knowledge of Harley-Davidson motorcycles, parts, and service procedures is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in dealership management software is a plus.
