Reports to	Service Manager

Job Purpose

Maintains production and quality by ensuring proper operation of machinery and equipment.

Primary Responsibilities

Service Technician performs a wide range of duties such as:

• Crete excellent experience for the customer while providing world class support
• Installation, start-up, training, and service of OEM automation equipment and vision systems
• Diagnose errors or technical problems and implement corrective action
• Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, and Robot control programs with support from engineering
• Maintain detailed documentation of all work performed
• Follow all customer’s procedures and protocols
• Build lasting relationships with customers
• Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments
• Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures and policies
• Perform and assist with other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical schematics
• Ability to read and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, and Robot programs.
• Experience working with Allen Bradley, Siemens, and/or Fanuc products
• Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service automation equipment
• Well versed in machine controls and have good mechanical aptitude
• Valid driver’s license and have or be able to acquire a valid passport
• Motivated with strong interpersonal skills
• Able to communicate clearly and effectively
• Must adhere to all company policies as communicated
• Ability to work flexible shifts
• Must wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required

Education

Automotive Technology degree, technical or automotive certification, or equivalent experience

Experience

Minimum of 5 years of technical experience or equivalent industry experience

Work Conditions

This position operates in an office and plant environment. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photo copiers, filing cabinets, fax machines, tools, and other machines.

Physical Requirements

This position is very active and requires standing, walking, and bending. Ability to lift components up to 50 lbs. Required to follow all plant safety procedures and practices.

Direct Reports

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Travel

This position is travel intensive. Much of the travel is within the tristate area but we service customers across the country. Overnight stays are frequently required. Travel abroad is also a possibility. (50% - 70% Travel)
