Service Sales Rep
SERVICE SALES REPRESENTATIVE
JOB FUNCTION:
Marketing and selling of service offerings to end users of life safety systems including, but not
limited to: fire alarm, security, sprinkler, extinguishers, and other low-voltage electronic systems meeting
specific sales, profitability, and new business goals.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES:
• Aggressively prospect, develop, and close leads using a variety of sources.
• Qualify (determine a customer’s likelihood of using our services) potential customers by performing
sales calls, conducting site surveys, determining and matching customer needs to our services, etc.
• Own the entire sales process from prospecting to close of the sale including performing sales calls,
visiting customers regularly, preparing and presenting proposals and quotes, etc.
• Develop and maintain a proposal backlog that will insure achieving established sales goals.
• Utilize company approved CRM to maintain customer database, track leads, report on activities, and
forecast future bookings.
• Communicate regularly with supervisor and management on business intelligence, pending and
upcoming proposals or service quotes and current priorities.
• Provide monthly reports to senior management to include but not limited to: sales goals, activities,
sales analysis, and forecasting.
• Develop and execute sales strategies towards generating leads from property managers, building
engineers, security directors, hotel managers, hospital administrators, and other key decision makers.
• Develop leads and influence decision makers through sales presentations such as Lunch & Learns,
Training Sessions, Tradeshow booths, etc. and executing sales promotion campaigns that promote
Company services to commercial markets.
• General assistance and coordination with the operations department towards communicating customer
information, building requirements, schedules, coordination of work, etc.

policies. The employee shall ensure all duties are performed in a safe and professional manner avoiding
any injuries, damage to property, and loss of unused materials. It is the obligation of the employee to
maintain his/her knowledge and familiarity with industry standards (NFPA, etc.) and local standards
related to the position. The employee is also responsible for acquiring and maintaining up-to-date

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS:
The qualified candidate will possess the skills and experience to balance multiple duties and tasks
with little supervision. Articulate communication, strong prospecting ability, customer service skills,
organized, quick learning, abstract thinker, and professional appearance are expected. An excellent
disposition, takes initiative, and the ability to build customer relationships through consultative selling
and promoting customer confidence in the company is favored.
Preferred Qualifications:
• three or more years of business to business sales experience. Experience in service sales preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
• Demonstrated ability to close sales based on value not price.
• Strong business development focus, willing to prospect and uncover new customers and drive to
develop opportunities from prospect level through to deal close.
• Preference for experience in any of the following: security, life safety, HVAC, building maintenance,
low-voltage electronics integration, or fire protection.
• Understands the sales life cycle: from sourcing, qualifying, proposal generation, bidding, closing, and
follow-up for client satisfaction and retention.
• Experience with reviewing job specifications, plans, change orders, etc. is preferred
• The ability to effectively communicate with property managers, building engineers, etc.
• Experience with a CRM software (Salesforce, Pipedrive, etc.).
Essential Qualifications:
• Must be lawfully able to work within the USA
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and safe driving record
• Must be willing to submit to and pass drug screenings and criminal background checks
• Must possess a high school diploma or GED
• Must have proficient computer skills including use of MS Office programs and Adobe PDF
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and comprehend acceptable business English
• Must have regular and punctual attendance
• Must have basic mathematical skills
ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE:
The position reports to the General Manager and works in close collaboration with the Systems
Operations team (Operations Manager, Service Coordinator, Project Coordinator, Scheduler, etc.). The
position must work with the other Sales and Engineering staff. Some supervisory direction to technicians
may be necessary on a project by project basis.
AUTHORITY:
The position will have the authority to complete and submit quotes, proposals, and estimates on
behalf of the Company. Additionally, the individual shall have the authority to represent the company in
customer interaction events such as site surveys, customer visits, end-user/customer training sessions, and
tradeshows. The position has the authority to claim reimbursements for sales expenditures under $201,
operate and maintain a company vehicle, cell phone, company tools and equipment.
