The Commercial HVAC Service Manager job is responsible for overseeing the operations, profitability, and performance of the HVAC service department. This role ensures the efficient delivery of high-quality service to commercial clients while maintaining customer satisfaction and meeting financial goals. The Service Manager leads a team of technicians and support staff, fostering a culture of safety, professionalism, and excellence.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Department Leadership:
- Manage daily operations of the service department, including scheduling, dispatching, and technician performance.
- Lead, mentor, and train a team of HVAC technicians to ensure technical excellence and customer satisfaction.
- Customer Relations:
- Act as the primary point of contact for commercial clients, resolving issues, answering questions, and ensuring timely service delivery.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to drive repeat business and referrals.
- Operational Oversight:
- Develop and implement efficient service workflows and processes to enhance productivity and profitability.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, industry regulations, and company policies.
- Financial Management:
- Monitor department budgets, analyze financial performance, and implement strategies to achieve revenue and profitability goals.
- Review and approve estimates for service contracts, repairs, and system upgrades.
- Service Contracts:
- Oversee the development and management of preventive maintenance agreements and service contracts.
- Ensure timely renewal and compliance with contractual obligations.
- Technical Support:
- Provide guidance and troubleshooting expertise for complex service calls and repairs.
- Stay updated on the latest HVAC technologies and best practices to support the team.
- Performance Monitoring:
- Track key performance metrics, including response times, customer satisfaction scores, and technician efficiency.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and address areas for improvement.
- Inventory and Equipment:
- Manage inventory levels, ensuring availability of critical parts and tools for service operations.
- Maintain service vehicles and equipment in optimal condition.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or degree in HVAC, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial HVAC service, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Extensive knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, including installation, repair, and maintenance practices.
- Familiarity with industry regulations, safety standards, and energy efficiency principles.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate technicians.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Outstanding communication and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in service management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and CRM systems.
- Other Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to client sites as needed.
- EPA certification and other relevant licenses are a plus.
