Service Manager - Agriculture

You've been there and done that as a Shop Foreman/Senior Technician/Assistant Branch Manager and you would like to take your career to the next step BUT you do not want to start in at a large bay dealership! Then consider this! Use your previous agribusiness management/tradesperson supervision experience to oversee and guide the growth of their service department. Plus, there is no expectation for you to be on the tools!

Does you background fit? As with all Service Managers roles, you would direct and coordinate the dealership service activities to install, service, maintain, and repair items sold, leased, or rented. You will also market, plan, and initiate all service department functions along with the supervision of Technicians and support staff.

To be successful, our client has identified a requirement for you to have an Interprovincial Certification (Agricultural preferred but may consider Heavy Duty) under which apprentices can work. Within your background you have worked with and gained knowledge of precision farming. To be fair to staff, it is key that you have at least two years of proven, related, supervisory experience. As this is a farm equipment dealership, direct experience in the repair of farm equipment is essential and, as farming has its varied priorities, you understand those stress factors and can work cohesively with the farm clients and internal staff to keep equipment in the field. And, as per farming priorities, overtime is expected during Seeding and Harvest seasons.

Consider residing in a smaller, active, urban centre area that enhances work-life integration within a reasonable drive to larger cities; a dynamite combination that is worth considering.
