The selected candidate must be able to articulate a strategic vision and understand OUTPATIENT diagnostic imaging. Responsibilities include 2 Regional Managers directly reporting and 600 FTEs indirectly, servicing over 25 outpatient clinics and 45 Imaging Centers.

Position Overview:

The primary function of this position is to plan, direct, monitor, coordinate, control and evaluate the operation and activities of the defined service area. The scope of this position includes all clinical, ancillary and business development functions either in direct or matrix reporting. The Service Area Director works collaboratively with Regional and System leadership to ensure seamless operations and strategic growth. Ensures positive medical group relations and alignment with strategic partners in the defined service area. The position is responsible for evaluating new business opportunities in collaboration with the CEO/COO, System leadership, and Director of Strategy and Business Growth. In addition, the Service Area Director will be assigned responsibility for leading strategic operational initiatives across all areas.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • MA/MS in Healthcare Management or other related field.

Skills:

  • 7+ years progressive management experience in healthcare setting with at least 5 years in managing multiple care center operations and / or ancillary / support departments.
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial management, strategic and operational planning, and developing, implementing and monitoring new and existing programs, processes and practices.
  • Proven experience in developing and maintaining physician, vendor, and contractor relationships.
  • Expertise in leading management and multi-disciplinary teams in the achievement of company goals.
  • Ability to communicate clearly to all levels of the organization; recognizing the diverse needs of patients, physicians, staff and the multiple affiliates.
  • Demonstrated experience in project and construction management to include the development, planning, budget and design of medical offices and ancillary services, including existing buildings that may require major renovation.
  • Sufficient experience to provide oversight management of materials management, facilities maintenance, and/ or ancillary department management.

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of scope of practice issues and care center operations Knowledge of regulatory standards (DHS, OSHA, CLIA, HIPPA, IMQ). Knowledge of all aspects of the practice management environment.
  • Knowledge of Business Plan development, space/area planning and the implementation operational systems.
  • Knowledge of implementing and leading quality improvement programs and initiatives.
  • Knowledge of facilities construction and renovation to include planning, budgeting, and operations management/consultation with assigned vendors and internal representatives.
  • Knowledge of current / contemporary ambulatory design and construction, as well as Capital Planning / Budgeting.
