Join our innovative engineering team at our Austin, TX location as a Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer. In this dynamic role, you'll lead critical water and wastewater projects, leveraging your extensive technical knowledge to deliver high-quality infrastructure solutions to municipalities across Central Texas. This position offers a unique opportunity to manage advanced design projects from conception through completion, ensuring sustainability and efficiency in water management systems.
Salary: $145,000+ per year
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the engineering design of water and wastewater pipelines, force mains, pump stations, lift stations, treatment plants, and water supply systems.
- Prepare comprehensive plans, specifications, cost estimates, and schedules for preliminary and final designs.
- Manage all project aspects including scope, schedule, budget, design, QA/QC processes, and workload coordination.
- Simultaneous oversight of multiple projects and client relationships, ensuring timely and budget-compliant execution.
- Coordinate closely with CAD staff to guide and integrate design drawings.
- Maintain proactive communication with clients and project teams, host regular project meetings to ensure alignment and progress.
- Support business development by collaborating with the marketing team on opportunity identification, proposal preparation, and technical presentations.
- Work with financial teams on fee proposals, budget forecasting, and project invoicing.
- Evaluate equipment and systems to ensure modern and efficient functionalities, producing detailed technical reports.
- Engage in light travel primarily between Austin and San Antonio for project management and site evaluation.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field; Master's degree is preferred.
- Active PE license in Texas with at least 3 years of experience post-certification.
- Over 12 years of technical experience in water/wastewater engineering with a minimum of 5 years focusing on project management and team leadership.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of water and wastewater regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects from initiation to completion with proven success in project delivery.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Central Texas municipalities including City of Austin and surrounding areas.
- Local project experience in Austin, San Antonio, and adjacent regions highly regarded.
Skills:
- Strong interpersonal skills with adeptness in verbal and written communication.
- Capable of managing multiple projects and clients simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Expertise in leading cross-functional teams and coordinating with various stakeholders.
- Proficient in using CAD software and project management tools.
