Senior Vice President or Partner - Lobbying

Our client is a prestigious, bipartisan government relations and public affairs firm headquartered in Washington, D.C. and currently in a significant growth phase. The firm is known for its strong policy expertise, strategic advocacy, and client service across a broad range of industries and issue areas. This is an outstanding opportunity for an accomplished government affairs professional to join a highly entrepreneurial, collaborative, and well-supported platform where senior professionals are empowered to build and expand their own practice. The firm has particular interest in individuals with expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Global Trade
- Federal Tax
- Defense
- Energy
- Transportation
- FDA / Health
- Cryptocurrency / Digital Assets
- AI / Technology / Cybersecurity
Key Duties
The Partner or Senior Vice President will play a leading role in both business development and client advocacy, while helping to expand the firm’s presence in a priority practice area.
At the Partner level, the emphasis is on the ability to generate revenue and build a sustainable practice. Candidates should have or be prepared to articulate a credible business plan for client and revenue growth.
At the Senior Vice President level, the role is well-suited for a strong issue expert or emerging business developer who may not yet have a fully portable book of business but can demonstrate a compelling growth strategy and business development potential.
Requirements
Qualified candidates will bring a compelling combination of policy expertise, political relationships, business development capability, and cultural fit. Ideal candidates will offer:
- Significant experience in government relations, lobbying, public affairs, congressional affairs, trade association advocacy, or related policy leadership roles
- Demonstrated expertise in one or more of the firm’s priority issue areas
- Strong understanding of the federal legislative and regulatory process
- A well-developed network across relevant policymakers, staff, agencies, and industry stakeholders
- A track record of business development success, client growth, or clear potential to build a meaningful practice
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- An entrepreneurial, self-directed, and proactive work style
- A collaborative, low-ego, and team-oriented approach
