Senior Vice President of Technology

Job Description

Position Responsibilities:

Strategic Data & Technology Leadership

  • Define and communicate the technology and data vision, strategy, and architecture for new technology platforms and existing data analytics offerings.
  • Build and lead high-performing software engineering and data analytics teams while ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Develop and implement technology roadmaps to protect assets and meet evolving organizational needs.
  • Leverage AI, ML, predictive modeling, and other emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge.

SaaS Platform Development

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of modern, cloud-native SaaS platforms for healthcare.
  • Establish software engineering standards, CI/CD pipelines, quality assurance processes, and technical documentation practices.
  • Collaborate with the SVP of Product to translate product requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Implement Agile, DevOps, Infrastructure as Code (IAC), and automated testing frameworks to ensure platform security, scalability, and maintainability.

Data Analytics Modernization

  • Oversee the modernization of existing data analytics and predictive modeling platforms.
  • Address technical debt while ensuring service continuity during system upgrades.
  • Implement best practices for data engineering, including data pipelines, architecture, and integration solutions.
  • Optimize data operations through contemporary tools and frameworks to maintain efficient data pipelines.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Provide strategic leadership to IT, data science, engineering, analytics, and business intelligence teams.
  • Conduct regular check-ins, remove roadblocks, and offer strategic guidance to ensure high performance.
  • Mentor and support team members' professional growth through coaching, training, and evaluations.
  • Collaborate with internal divisions to ensure the successful delivery of quality products and services.

Information Security, Compliance & Data Governance

  • Ensure HIPAA compliance and manage information security functions with established policies and standards.
  • Maintain SOC 2 Type 2 certification across all five Trust Service Criteria (TSCs) and pursue additional industry certifications (e.g., HITRUST, PCI-DSS, NIST).
  • Establish cybersecurity controls and systems to protect PHI in a cloud-hosted environment.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication

  • Collaborate with the SVP of Product on product strategy, technical feasibility, and implementation planning.
  • Engage with senior leadership, clients, and stakeholders to align data initiatives with business goals.
  • Provide regular insights and KPI reports to inform decision-making and identify strategic opportunities.
  • Ensure client satisfaction by delivering impactful data solutions and translating technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.

Budgeting & Performance Monitoring

  • Monitor IT budgets and KPIs to enhance technological performance and maximize ROI.
  • Conduct regular technology analyses to identify improvements that align with organizational goals.
  • Ensure that all technological resources align with the organization’s short- and long-term business objectives.
Experience & Skills:
Required Experience and Qualifications:
  • Extensive Leadership Experience: 12+ years of progressive management experience in IT, data science, or technology leadership, ideally in healthcare or philanthropy-focused environments.
  • Cloud-Native SaaS Platform Expertise: Proven experience architecting, building, and scaling cloud-native SaaS platforms, preferably in healthcare B2B settings.
  • Full SDLC Management: Strong background in managing the full software development lifecycle for enterprise B2B applications.
  • Cloud and Software Development Proficiency: Expertise in cloud-native applications (preferably Microsoft Azure) and modern software development practices.
  • HIPAA Compliance and Security: Deep understanding of HIPAA compliance, secure computing environments, and protecting PHI data.
  • Healthcare IT and Data Systems Knowledge: Experience with healthcare IT systems, data integrations, and IT compliance requirements.
  • SOC 2 and IT Compliance Management: Proven experience maintaining SOC 2 (or comparable) certification across all five Trust Service Criteria (TSCs).
  • Data Warehousing and Analytics Expertise: Strong understanding of data warehousing best practices, including ETL/ELT, data modeling, and analytics pipelines.
  • Data Engineering and Modern Tech Stack: Hands-on experience with data engineering, workflow orchestration, and modern data stack technologies.
  • Data Visualization and Dashboarding: Experience building and supporting customer-facing dashboards using Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools.
  • AI/ML and Predictive Modeling Experience: Expertise in AI, machine learning, and deploying data science solutions in production environments.
  • Data Integration Proficiency: Strong experience integrating disparate data sources, including EMR and CRM-derived data.
  • Legacy System Modernization: Demonstrated ability to modernize legacy systems while maintaining service continuity.
  • Financial and KPI Management: Experience in budgeting, business planning, and managing KPIs to align with business goals.
  • Strong Leadership and Team Development: Excellent communication, management, and supervisory skills with the ability to mentor and lead high-performing teams across software engineering, data analytics, and infosec.
  • Strategic and Analytical Thinking: Strong strategic mindset, analytical abilities, and a problem-solving approach.
  • Communication of Technical Concepts: Ability to communicate complex data and technology concepts effectively to employees, stakeholders, and clients.
  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
Compensation $225k-$250k, company-paid employee coverage for medical, dental, vision, prescription coverage, disability, and life insurance, and retirement savings plan (401k) with a company match. We also provide twenty (20) days of annual paid time off, and twelve (12) paid holidays
