Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the EVP Operations & Continuous Improvement for a restaurant supplier and distributor of foodservice supplies and equipment. Established in 1902, they have provided foodservice operators with high quality products, like kitchen supplies and catering supplies, from the industry's leading manufacturer. Stands out from competition by offering superb service, responsiveness, and product selection, while maintaining competitive pricing, a strong supply chain in the industry. With over 1,200 associates, 80,000 different products, and over 1 million square feet in warehouse space.
The Senior Transportation Manager is responsible for leading the transportation team and developing a corporate transportation strategy for the organization. They will oversee freight cost savings, carrier service improvement, and grade performance weekly. Develop strategy for maximizing service and costs through management of LTL spend, parcel, and occasional truckload/private fleet spend. Goal is to increase revenues, optimize costs, and maximize profitability.

Background Required:
  • Less Than Truckload Transportation (3yrs, owning relationships, contracts, negotiations)
  • Management (1 direct report, 5 indirect reports)
  • Create, execute, and exceed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Transportation Management Systems (TMS) exposure
  • Carrier Scorecards
  • Monthly reporting (financials and scorecards)
  • Customer service (logistics)
  • Computer literate: Microsoft Suite and Excel Superuser (i.e. V Look Ups)
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or 5 years of relevant experience
  • Residence: Columbus, OH
