Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and develop advanced tools, dies, and fixtures tailored for stamping, bending/forming, and machining processes.
- Create precise 3D models and detailed technical drawings using industry-preferred CAD software, including SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and CATIA.
- Conduct thorough evaluations of tool designs focusing on manufacturability, ease of use, and cost efficiency.
- Analyze tool performance, identifying wear and defects, and propose design improvements to increase durability and efficiency.
- Leverage continuous process improvement strategies to optimize tooling functions and maintain product quality consistency.
- Develop, test, and refine prototypes ensuring adherence to specifications and quality expectations.
- Perform detailed dimensional inspections and functionality tests on tools and dies.
- Provide expert technical support during production by diagnosing and resolving tooling issues promptly.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to manage tool and die repairs, upkeep, and retooling operations.
- Facilitate close collaboration with production, quality control, and design teams to understand requirements and deliver effective engineering solutions.
- Guide and train operators and technicians on proper tool handling, setup, and maintenance to ensure operational standards.
- Manage multiple project timelines, ensuring all tooling projects are delivered on time and within budget constraints.
- Prepare comprehensive documentation, reports, and budgets pertinent to tool and die development and enhancements.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in tool and die design for manufacturing, with a strong portfolio showcasing past projects.
- Extensive knowledge of CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA) and proficiency in 3D modeling.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate designs and perform stress analysis and feasibility studies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, capable of troubleshooting tooling and production issues efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines.
- Certifications related to tool design, CAD software proficiency, or project management.
- Experience in using CAD/CAM software for CNC programming.
- Familiarity with the latest industry standards and technology advancements in tool and die manufacturing.
- Leadership experience with the ability to manage teams and projects effectively under tight deadlines.

- In-depth knowledge of tooling and manufacturing processes, including stamping and CNC machining.
- High competency in CAD and CAM tools with the ability to teach and guide others in its use.
